Pontiac Fiero Miniatures
by
Ray Paulk This is the first in a series that feature the Fiero in the small, toy
form. Ray has done much research and analyzing to come up with the detail and
information you are about to read and we appreciate his contributions to the
world of the Fiero. Galoob
& Funrise ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galoob produced a Fiero GT fastback in
both a Micro Machines® and a Micro Machines® Minis. The larger GT was produced
in several variations and released as both a primary car and as part of a group
of "Free" bonus cars attached to a primary set. Of particular
interest is the 1995 release, the "#14 DECADES: THE '80s" (series
64630 and 75030) in which the Fiero was identified as an "'89 PONTIAC
FIERO". This is probably the only '89 Fiero ever released. The Galoob Micro Machines Mini GT
fastback Fiero has only been found as one of 4 "FREE!" bonus micro
minis given away with some of the 1995 Decades sets (series 64630). It has been
found with "#11 DECADES: THE '50S" and "#12 DECADES: THE
'60S". This model has black ground effects which makes is an '86 or '87
GT. Funrise, a competitor to
Galoob,
produced a series of miniature vehicles which included a Fiero notchback. This
model is based on the IMSA racing body style with a front air dam scoop, a
"whale tail" spoiler and bulging fenders. One version of this model
is even fitted with monster truck wheels. Although these miniature cars are
popular, there is little in the way of documentation. Therefore, the following
list of variations is based on models in my own collection and a collaborative
effort with other Fiero toy collectors. --------------------------------------------------------------------- MICRO

advise me of all the details possible. Also, please consider letting me buy,
trade or borrow the model or set as it is always better to document from the
physical piece rather than hearsay (plus it will make my collection more
complete). A special thanks to the following
